ISO 20000-1 (IT Service Management System – ITSMS)

ISO/IEC 20000-1 (ITSMS) is right for any service provider, who needs to provide assurance within the quality of the services they deliver. The ISO/IEC 20000-1 standard sets forth the structural requirements for an ITSMS from service planning and service delivery to resolution and release management, along with resources and controls throughout the service lifecycle. The companion document ISO/IEC 20000-2 code of practice provides interpretive guidance and recommendations for organizations implementing the standard.

Steps to Certification of your ITSMS for ISO 20000-1

 

Step1:

Complete a Quote Request for ISO 20000-1 by filling our questionnaire, so that we can understand your company and requirements.

We will use this information to accurately define your scope of assessment and provide you with a proposal for certification of your ITSMS.

Step2:

Once you’ve approved your proposal for the certification of your ITSMS, we will contact you to book your assessment with an SMG Assessor.

This assessment consists of two mandatory visits that form the Initial Certification Audit.

Please note that you must be able to demonstrate that your IT service management system has been fully operational, has gone through the internal audit, and has been subject to a management review.

Step 3:

Following a successful two stage audit, a certification decision is made and if positive, then certification to the required standard is issued by SMG.

You will receive an electronic ISO 20000-1 certificate. Certification is valid for three years and is maintained through a program of annual surveillance audits and a recertification audit every three years.
