The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was adopted by the European ‎Parliament in April ‎‎2016, and came into force on May 25, 2018. It is a legislation that ‎obligates organizations to protect ‎the personal data and privacy of EU citizens as well as ‎all transactions that occur with EU member ‎states.‎ ‎
